Atlas London is highly privileged to clean The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. The Inn is a thriving community of barristers situated on a large estate of historic buildings, one of which contains the library.
The earliest records in the library’s archives date back to 1422, documenting life at the Inn from its beginnings as an organisation of barristers. The library holds approximately 150,000 volumes and, in addition to an outstanding collection of English legal treatises and extensive collections of early civil and continental law, features a vast collection of pamphlets and tracts, over 2,000 of which date from before 1700.
Our team works hard to ensure this library looks wonderful every day for those who study, research, and work here, as well as for those who continue to be inspired by the historical collections it holds.
Paying close attention to fine details and attending to the historic building with careful consideration, Yairy Marte, one of the on-site cleaners, noticed that the brass plaques in Lincoln’s Inn Library looked a little lacklustre and needed a polish. Her hard work was recognised, and we received a lovely message from the librarian:
“Once again, I am delighted. Not only were the brass plaques on the bookcases polished, so that we can now see which is which! It is lovely to have the plaque on the table polished, as we are going to include an article on the table in the Annual Review for last year, as it was 100 years since the table was donated. Now that the plaque has been polished, we will be able to include a photo of it with the article.”
